Hey all!
A walk at Ft Loudon State Historic Area in Monroe county on Sunday =
11/30 at around 12:30 P.M. revealed five Purple finch, 3 f and 2 m. Also =
a Winter wren, Hermit thrush, two Brown creepers, seven Yellow-bellied =
sapsuckers, and the usual winter woodland species. We saw two beautiful =
coyotes, and the ever present deer, rabbits, and squirrels and =
squirrels and then some more squirrels.
At home in Friendsville, feeder birds are normal. Total number of =
species taking advantage of food supply is 22, with members of =
Emberizidae being predominate. I've seen no Purple finch at feeders, and =
no Junco since late October.
Merry birding to all!!
Kim Henry
Friendsville, TN. in Blount County
