Tuesday 2 December
7:15 - 9:00 am
After being away for one week, I went to check on duck movement at
Radnor Lake. AM. ROBINs were almost at plague proportions, but I
also saw a dozen RUSTY BLACKBIRDs in two small flocks.
Both the SURF SCOTER and his RUDDY "buddy" have left. Ducks have
increased somewhat in both numbers and variety with 6 species present.
Pied-billed Grebe 1
Am. Black 6
Mallard 2
Gadwall 28
Am. Wigeon 10
Ring-necked 8
Bufflehead 6
Best bird of the morning was a single female PURPLE FINCH, seen
feeding in cedar trees near the deck along the lake trail.
