One of my fellow local birders related a story to me concerning cats and 
raptors.

His neighbors were on their deck one evening when an owl swooped down and 
failed in an attempt to get their cat. When the outraged neighbors asked 
Charlie what theye could do about this awful owl that was trying to kill 
their cat, he replied "Well, I guess that cat has gotten a lot of my birds, 
so the owl decided it was time for revenge."
