I'm glad the Northern Mockingbird was chosen over the Painted Bunting.
I love seeing Painted Buntings in South Carolina, but I don't think that the
Painted Bunting would have made a very good bird to be representative of
Tennessee since its range into the state only occurs in western TN.
I wonder how many Tennesseans know about the Tennessee Warbler and Nashville
Warbler? Of course, they are, alas, only migrants through the state.
