[TN-Bird] Sandhill cranes

Friends:
FYI this afternoon about 5 pm there was a WONDERFUL flight of several hundred
cranes over Pleasant Hill in Cumberland County. Too many to count accurately,
but they were all headed due south. I have never seen longer VEES than this
formation - it was spectacular.

And then about 5:50. AFTER dark, we heard another batch go over. How do they
navigate in the dark? They also were headed south according to our ears, but
there was no longer any light in the sky.

Gotta get down to Dayton very soon.
