This morning at the Shelby Farms Fish Ponds, there was a Blue-gray 
Gnatcatcher which is a late date for Shelby County. The cold weather 
has brought in more species of duck to the ponds including Ruddy Ducks, 
Buffleheads , one female Canvasback and more Lesser Scaup. The large 
numbers of Ring-necks (100+),  Green-winged Teal (55), Shovelers (70+) 
and Redheads (only 6). Because of the recent rain, the numbers of 
Wilson Snipe were down from 32 to only 8, while the number of Least 
Sandpipers has doubled to 2. Sparrows were abundant,
