[TN-Bird] Heavy bird traffic today

Hi Birders,
While attending a meeting on the top floor of the Hampton Inn--Green Hills
(Nashville, Davidson County) this morning, bird traffic was quite heavy as
viewed through the glass sides and ceiling of their Belle Meade Room.
Literally
thousands of robins, grackles and starlings flew south over the building
during the entire hour and a half that I was there. Two turkey vultures were
floating in the sky over Green Hills most of the time, and the two crows flew
over the building without stopping. Crows usually land on the roof during
meetings where they "caw" loudly and peck even more loudly at their
reflections
in the Plexiglas thereby heckling the speakers quite thoroughly. I have
named the crows Heckle and Jeckle, but they did not "perform" for today's
speaker. The resident red-tailed hawk also took up a little air space with
its
soaring.
On the way home, I spied a sparrow hawk on a wire over the vacant grassy
field behind the Hill's Grocery on Annex Avenue at Charlotte Pike. It could be
seen as I drove along Annex beside the field.
Cheers, prayers and happy birding,
Dee Thompson
Nashville, TN
