Radnor Lake State Natural Area
Davidson Co.
Nashville, TN
4 November 2004
7-9am
cloudy and brisk
On my usual walk from the west parking lot of Radnor Lake to long
bridge along the lake trail there was plenty of activity plus
several latish migrants. Small numbers of ducks continue to
come in. A complete circle of the lake would likely have found
more. YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS were the most numerous birds,
but I also found three other species of warblers, TENNESSEE,
ORANGE-CROWNED, and NASHVILLE. Two male PURPLE FINCHes were my
first of the season and always nice to see. Other groups of
migrants included RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETs and INDIGO BUNTINGs.
Birds of interest included:
Mallard 1 male
Gadwall 9
Ring-necked Duck 5
Ruddy Duck 1
Eastern Phoebe 1
Winter Wren 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 9
Tennessee Warbler 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 1
Nashville Warbler 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler 100+
Indigo Bunting 4
Purple Finch 2 males
