Thank you Gary,

I must say that my granddaughter, Libby, really enjoyed our field trip. I
was so thankful to everyone for making special efforts for her to see and
hear the birds we were seeing!

She got cold, and does not have the attention span that some of us old
"hardened" birders have, but that was offset by having her Grandpa bring her
a bit later in the morning and leaving a little earlier. I also let her sit
in the car when the wind off the lake was especially bitter.

On the way home, she was chattering excitedly about the birds, and the
things she had seen. Though she mainly saw birds that were ordinary to us,
to her, they were all new, and to see them that close up was very exciting.
It was very rewarding for me!

Now she is drawing a picture to enter in "Wildbirds" magazine's monthly
contest. She wants to win her own binoculars.
