Frank Fekel, Phillip Casteel and I went to Britton Ford today to look for
the Red Phalarope. We found it, first in the water, then it flew over to
the flats and joined a group of Dunlin. The Dunlin got up and flew around
for several minutes, the Phalarope with them. Then it separated from them
and landed in the water again briefly. Then flew back to the mud flats and
fed. We were able to get fairly close while it fed. In addition to the
Dunlin, we also had a Greater Yellowlegs, some Pipits and a Rusty Blackbird
on the mud flats.
