Ruth Smith and I were birding around South Holston Dam  this beautiful Sunday in
November and below the dam in the right channel we spotted our first of the 
sweason
buffleheads.  Two females were swimming and dipping in the warm sunlight.  We 
also
enjoyed watching a mute swan above the weirs.  Later we joined up with Wallace
Coffey and Rack Cross for some very good birding.
South Holston Dam is in Bristol, TN.
