clear, very chilly

My walk at Radnor Lake this Thursday morning, as one 
might expect, produced some changes from yesterday.
Bird numbers had generally decreased, but I did find
10 species of warblers.  YELLOW-RUMPEDs numbers stayed 
strong, while MAGNOLIA numbers declined a bit but remained 
in second place.  The strong showing of BLACK-THROATED
GREENs yesterday was missing, and I had to work hard
before eventually finding 4 of them near the end of 
my walk and missed AMERICAN REDSTART altogether.  I did 
manage to get my first ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER of the 
fall, as well as my first HERMIT THRUSH.  There was a 
nice showing of ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKs around the 
dam.  A SCARLET TANAGER and a few twittering CHIMNEY 
SWIFTs were a late reminder of summer. Near Otter Creek 
Road, I heard a RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, perhaps the same 
one as yesterday.  In looking for this ghost, I got 
eye-level views at a latish YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER 
with its yellow throat and short primaries.
