Returning from Arizona on Sunday, having seen their second state
record RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD, a nice adult male, I missed the 
excellent birding at Radnor Lake on Friday.  Thus, I headed out to 
Radnor this morning.

As usual, I birded from the West Parking lot to Long Bridge and 
back.  Almost immediately, I spotted an adult BALD EAGLE, my first 
of the species at Radnor, eating breakfast on the limb of the huge 
dead tree at Grassy Point.  It eventually flew across the lake and 
landed in some trees above Otter Creek Road.  I enjoyed seeing several
ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKs and SCARLET TANAGERs plus a YELLOW-BELLIED
FLYCATCHER at Long Bridge.  There were plenty of PHILADELPHIA
VIREOs along with a lone WARBLING VIREO.  I encountered 10 species
of warblers, dominated by MAGNOLIAs.  YELLOW RUMPED's were around
but not yet in ascendancy. Two male WILSON's and an adult male AM. 
REDSTART were other highlights.  At one point two fussing
wrens brought in a half dozen species of warblers for support, but
I never identified the problem that they were complaining about.
I saw or heard 6 species of woodpeckers, including my first 
YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKERs of the season, missing only RED-HEADED, 
which is relatively rare at Radnor.

Scarlet Tanager    3
Summer Tanager     1
Rose breasted Grosbeak  3

Tennessee            1
N. Parula            1
Chestnut-sided       2
Magnolia             24+
Black-throated Green 3
Black and White      5
Am. Redstart         4 (1 adult male)
Ovenbird             1
Common Yellowthroat  1
Wilson's             2 males
