[TN-Bird] CTOS Birding At The Honors Golf Course

    Saturday Sept. 29 the Chattanooga chapter of the TOS had a morning and an 
afternoon birding field day at The Honors golf course in Ooltewah.
    Eight birders found 63 species from 8:00 - 11:30 AM. Birders included Clyde 
Blum, Carol Fegarido, Danny & Anita Gaddy, Cathy Lockwitz, Jennifer Rydell, 
Susan Shott & David Stone. Some of the highlights included Philadelphia Vireo, 
all three Nuthatches, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, a Grey-checked Thrush, 10 species 
of warblers and both Tanagers.

    We had 25 for the afternoon session. Although not as many birds were seen 
in the afternoon, they did add Wild Turkey, Red-headed Woodpecker, 
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker and American Redstart to the list. The total for both 
morning and afternoon sessions was 67 species.

Pileated Woodpecker - 1 (heard only)

Eastern Phoebe - 3
White-eyed Vireo - 2
Philadelphia Vireo - 1
Red-eyed Vireo - 1
Blue Jay - numerous
American Crow - 3
Carolina Chickadee - several
Tufted Titmouse - several
Red-breasted Nuthatch - 2
