At the homestead in western Lewis County:

Oct 9 2006: A Merlin perched and presenting itself nicely before  
flying off, and the season's first Song Sparrow.  Warblers --  
Tennessee, Nashville, Magnolia, Yellow-rumped, Common Yellowthroat.   
Also a late-ish Summer Tanager.

Oct 10 2006: A late-ish Eastern Wood Pewee; warblers -- Tennessee,  
Nashville, Magnolia, and Yellow-rumped.  Plus another Lincoln's  
Sparrow, which along with the Song and Swamp of the last few days  
rounds out the genus Melospiza.
