Three White-throated Sparrows were feeding on black sunflower seeds on my 
driveway Monday- October 9, 2006.  They were very dark with striped breasts so 
they were evidently first winter birds.

I also had several Brown Thrashers having  a feeding frenzy on the red dogwood 
berries.
