Henry Co. (just northeast of McKenzie)
I spent about three hours this morning in the same area as my last couple of
times out, again looking for the Clay-colored Sparrow. Once again, there were
lots of birds in the area; many sparrows but no Clay-colored that I saw.
Chippies and Savannahs were working all over the area. Several Song Sparrows
have moved in since yesterday as well , Lincoln's pop up wherever I pish it
seems. I have been working open, brushy areas exclusively, so not much variety
in warblers. Tennessee's are everywhere, with numerous Palms, Yellow-rumps and
Yellowthroats. A Nashville pops up every once in a while.
Highlights today were a Sedge Wren that singing practically underfoot, and a
tree full of Tennessee Warblers in response to pishing.
I have posted several images from today; Lincoln's Sparrows, Sedge Wren, 7
Tennessee Warblers in one shot, and a couple of other various images of
warblers.
The images are in the same gallery as my other recent shots:
http://www.pbase.com/mctodd/mckenzie_area_100606 , but the following link
http://www.pbase.com/mctodd/image/68216279 will take you to the 1st of the new
images, clicking 'next' will take you to the next image and so forth. The image
of the 7 TN Warblers in one tree is larger than usual, at small size the birds
are hard to see.
If Don Manning happens to see the Clay-colored Sparrow again, I will post.
Good Birding!!
