On Saturday, October 14th, the Nashville Chapter of
TOS will hold a joint field trip with KOS at the
Sloughs WMA near Henderson Kentucky.

A similar KOS field trip last year yielded 92 species,
including 8 species of waterfowl, American Bittern,
King and Virginia Rail, several species of shorebirds,
and Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrows.

We are meeting at Hardy Slough at 8:00am - directions
will follow in a later e-mail.

Sleep Inn in Henderson has plenty of rooms available
for $69.95 - you may be able to get a better rate with
discounts, etc.  The number is 270-830-6500.  There
are other motels in the area, but were either cheaper,
or not so desirable.

It would be possible to make this a day trip, but you
will need to leave Nashville by 5:15 am to insure your
arrival on time.

If you are planning on attending this field trip,
please let me know by next Wednesday, and whether you
will be going up Friday night, or Saturday morning. 

Henderson is also home to Audubon State Park and
Museum, well worth the visit.
