Over the last month I've looked over McKellar Lake from the few viewing areas 
available, time and time again but never found the Mottled Duck's hiding 
place. Finally on Saturday, I found over 300 Mallards taking a siesta in the 
rain 
on a sand bank. In the middle of the flock was the Mottled Duck. 

I checked TVA Lake over a dozen times on Saturday and Sunday but did not see 
the Mottled again until 4:45 on Sunday afternoon. It had pretty much drizzled 
all weekend long but the Mottled Duck is still hanging around and is as 
unpredictable as ever.
