When I posted photos of the nests of Black-necked Stilts, I had a few birders 
that were surprised at the eye color of these wondrous birds. Some birders 
had not experienced a real up close encounter with this species. I've posted a 
portrait shot, taken this season, that I ran across the other day for those 
that are interested.

PS: I short trip to the Arkabutla area just below Memphis produced 13 species 
of warblers including a big movement of Black-throated Green and Indigo 
Buntings plus an Avocet out with the gulls on the lake.
