The migration tide is turning into the home stretch at Radnor Lake.
This Wed. morning I birded my usual route from the west parking lot
to Long Bridge and back. For the first time the most numerous
warbler was YELLOW-RUMPED, although there is still a nice smattering
of migrants. The best flock was near the dam. WHITE-THROATED
SPARROWs increased by 100% from yesterday, I found two today.
9 species of warblers:
Tennessee 8
Nashville 1
Chestnut-sided 3
Magnolia 10
Yellow-rumped 13
Black-throated Green 7
Blackburnian 1
Bay-breasted 2
Common Yellowthroat 2
Other species:
Ruby-throated Hummingbird 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1 my first of the fall
Swainson's Thrush 1
Yellow-throated Vireo 1
Philadelphia Vireo 2
Rose-breasted Grosbeak 3
Brown-headed Cowbird 1 my first of the fall
