[TN-Bird] Diet Black-throated Blue

I have been delighted at the birds that have collected in my yard the last two
days.... foggy dreary damp days do have some wonderful advantages!
However, I was surprised.... very surprised, to see a Black-throated Blue
Warbler eating black sunflower seeds yesterday... very easily and comfortbly
seemingly. The seeds were on a rather slanting wide driveway and other birds
were also eating.
So looking it up in a birding guidebook, the book indicates that in the winter
25% of the Black-throat's diet is seeds and other vegetable matter.
Three Chestnut-sided Warblers were also collected together on my driveway but
interestingly they were all involved where flowers had fallen from my white
crepe myrtle... A delightful scene with their pale lime green and white
plumage. The white eye-ring clearly stood out.
Alas, today is clear and cooler. I imagine the warblers are collecting with
others heading for the tropics. I do hope there is good habitat for them and
that they will return healthy and frisky in the spring.
