We continue to see lots of warblers, vireos and several other unusual
birds. In the past week we've had these unusual birds: Black-billed and
Yellow-billed Cuckoo, 4 Red-winged Blackbirds, flyover Green Heron and
Merlin, a Veery, and a mature and immature Red-headed Woodpecker. We've
also seen Warbling, Yellow-throated, White-eyed, Philadelphia and
Red-eyed Vireos and lots of warblers: Yellow-throated, Northern Parula,
Hooded, Chestnut-sided, Common Yellowthroat, Worm-eating, Blackburnian,
Kentucky, Pine, Bay-breasted, Magnolia, Tennessee, Yellow, American
Redstart, Yellow-breasted Chat, and Black & White.
So far this month we have 74 species and added 2 more yard firsts to
bring that total to 131. And we're still looking through the hordes of
Ruby-throated Hummingbirds to see if a little Rufous named Willie has
come back yet.
