Gilbert Derouen, Reece Jamerson and Bryan Stevens found a Semipalmated Plover
at the Carter County Rescue Squad Pond on Stoney Creek in Elizabethon, Carter
Co., on Saturday, Sept. 3.
At nearby Rasar Farm, we also had a Pied-billed Grene (first any of us have
seen this fall) as well as two Blue-winged Teal, Great Blue Heron and several
Mallards.
We also birded Sycamore Shoals State Park in Elizabethton, but we just could
not find any passerine migrants. The best we managed was an Indigo Bunting, a
Red-eyed Vireo and some flocks of Red-winged Blackbirds.

Hampton, Carter Co., TN
