I had to deliver some drawings down town this morning so what more of an 
excuse do I need to run a little out of the way to see what was at Ensley?

It seems a few shorebirds have left but still an unbelievable number to look 
through but nothing jumped out as new. On the way out at 10:30, I saw a kettle 
of Storks rise out of Horn Lake Slough just east of the big pits. I counted 
65, and after about 10 minutes of circling and rising, they peeled off heading 
toward the west end of North Lake or Oldtown Lake. There were 300 Great 
Egrets, Snowy and immature Little Blue Herons in one of the barrow pits to the 
south 
of Riverport Road, it looked like the Spanish Armada in full sail. About 100 
got up when a train came by but none of the 22 Wood Storks left. So 87 Wood 
Storks is the high count for the area so far.
