On 9-5-03 we birded at the Norris Dam area and some of the best birds were:

White-eyed Vireo 6
Yellow- throated Vireo 1
Red-eyed Vireo 1
Blue- winged Warbler 1
Magnolia Warbler 1
Pine Warbler 1
Am Redstart 3
Hooded Warbler 1
Yel- breasted Chat 1

At Eagle Bend Fish Hatchery 9-5-03 east of Clinton, TN

Semipal Plover 6
Lesser yellowlegs 1
Least sandpiper 3
Spotted sandpiper 2
Pectoral sanpiper 4

On 9-6-03 near South Hills Golf Course in Oak Ridge, Tn Sat AM

White-eyed Vireo 8
Red- eyed Vireo 3
TN Warbler 1
Chestnut-sided Warbler 1
Magnolia Warbler 1
Blk-thr green Warbler 1
Pine Warbler 6 (2 singing)
Black and white Warbler 1
Am Redstart 4
Common yellowthroat 2
Scarlet Tanager 12
Baltimore Oriole 1 (beautiful male)

9-6-03 Beaver Ponds at K-25 Plant and Clinch River in Roane County,TN Sat AM

Red-headed Woodpecker 2 adults
Osprey 1
Bald Eagle 1 (immature)
The Osprey and the Eagle were engaging in aerial combat over or heads for 2 
or 3 minutes and got quite close to us.

We did not go on the KTOS field trip to Rankin Bottoms this afternoon. THE 
VOLS WERE PLAYING.
