[tn-bird] Association of Bald Cypress and Carolina Parakeet

The following link suggests that the establishment and maintenance of healthy,
viable bald cypress forests might have been greatly aided by the Carolina
Parakeet. Although germination and dissemination of bald cypress is also aided
by floods that carry seeds away from the parent tree, natural flood cycles have
also been greatly interrupted. The parakeet paradigm is an interesting
hypothesis. What other species in the world could eke out a living on
cocklebur and cypress?
