Sounds like a baseball score...............

An after work trip and steady north winds produced some fine numbers as you 
can see from the heading. The number of Baird's Sandpipers did not surpass 
the 23 that I once had on Island 13, years back but it did top my previous 
Ensley high of 9. It is the first time I've ever been able to photograph 4 
Baird's feeding together in one shot.

The Buff-breasted were spread around in 3 groups and as always were eye 
poppers. I can sit for hours and watch them strut. The single immature Ruddy 
Turnstone was back exactly where I had him this past Friday but could not 
locate him again till today. The immature Short-billed Dowitchers are still 
pumping away at a steady clip. 

Again lots of great birds to look through and no raptors keeping them up in 
the air. Should make for some fine viewing in the coming days as the front 
will take a few and drop a few. This afternoon's total of 15 species was a 
good midweek pick me up.
