Memphis to Reelfoot

A short note to be followed by more details later.

Mike Todd and I started at Mud/Cocklebur Lake and no Wood Storks or Roseate 
to be found. The hole at Cocklebur Lake, where all the species had been 
feeding was almost devoid of activity. They have fished it out and moved on. 
There are still a huge number of egrets and herons in Mud Lake.

Over all everything was slow all day with absolutely nothing flying. Repeated 
checks of the sky reveal zilch again and again. On a bright note the Bell's 
was singing its head off on Saturday afternoon like he owned the place.

I don't know what conditions were for Jay or Chris on their Big Day run south 
from Reelfoot to Memphis but if they got more than 120 species they now own 
the August record for a Big Day in Tennessee. Now I'm off to see if I can 
relocate a mystery peep seen Friday at the pits and Chris' bedraggled Ruff.
