Shorebirds were dispersed over a couple of miles of mudflat edge. The peeps
were particularly hard to distinguish & enumerate, so my numbers are very
approximate.
Partial list:
Black-bellied plover (5)
Semipalmated plover
Killdeer (125)
American avocet (13)
Greater yellowlegs (2)
Lesser yellowlegs (42)
Willet (2)
Spotted sandpiper (2)
Peeps (200+; semipalmated, western, and least in roughly equal proportions)
Pectoral sandpiper (42)
Stilt sandpiper
Short-billed dowitcher (16)
Wilson's phalarope - (2)
