[TN-Bird] Kingston Steam Plant Birding

We tried to beat the heat early and were at the Kingston Steam Plant settling
ponds in Roane County, TN from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning (8/5/06).
We were joined by Beth Shilling (sp?) at 9:30. Most of the shorebirds seen
were on the far west end of the middle upper pond. Most interesting birds seen
were one adult White Ibis and a Wilson's Phalarope (non-breeding adult spotted
by Beth) both seen in the west end middle upper pond. Birds seen or heard:
1. Great Egret - 2
2. Snowy Egret - 3
3. Great Blue Heron - 2
4. Little Blue Heron - 2 immature
5. Black-crowned Night-Heron - 2
6. Wood ducks - 5
7. Mallards - numerous
8. Canada Goose - 30+
9. Osprey - 2
10. Kestrel - 1
11. White Ibis -1
12. Wilson's Phalarope - 1
13. Spotted Sandpiper - 1
14. Solitary Sandpiper - 3
15. Pectoral Sandpiper - 2
16. Semipalmated Sandpiper - 15+
17. Killdeer - 30+
18. Double-crested Cormorant - 1
19. Catbird - 1
20. Northern Yellowthroat - 2
21. Mourning Dove - 20+
22. Eastern Kingbird - 10
23. Indigo Bunting - 2
24. Blue Grosbeak - 1
25. Northern Cardinal - 1
26. Song Sparrow - 2
27. Eastern Meadowlark - 3
