    Virginia Reynolds and I birded Eagle Lake refuge this morning.  Seven 
species of herons and of raptors; highlights below.

Pied-billed Grebe 2
White Pelican 30 (flying over trees on a thermal)
ANHINGA 1 male
Herons: Great Blue 10
            Little Blue 25
            Green 5
            Black-crowned Night 1 adult
            Yellow-crowned Night 1 immature
Egrets:  Great 60
            Snowy 3
Vultures: Black 1
              Turkey 3
Mississippi Kite 3
Cooper's Hawk 1 (scared the shorebirds, I thought at first was a Peregrine)
Red-shouldered Hawk 1
Broad-winged Hawk 6
Red-tailed Hawk 4
American Golden Plover 1, fantastic breeding plumagge
Semipalmated Plover 4
Killdeer 65
Black-necked Stilt 30
Lesser Yellowlegs 2
Sandpiper: Solitary 2
                Spotted 7
                Least 12
                Pectoral 20
Least Tern 2
Catbird 1
Baltimore Oriole 1

Raccoon 1
