[TN-Bird] Late fledges?

About a week ago, I had three baby cardinals leave the nest in the holly tree
beside my bedroom window . Their parents have been busily poking sunflower
seeds into their little beaks ever since, and the babies are catching on to
finding their own food very rapidly. Five baby chickadees have just started
coming with their parents, so I have beaucoups of babies feeding and cheeping
away
around my deck.
With all the hummingbirds that have been flying through and feeding here
since July 21, I have seen ONLY ONE full grown male with his ruby throat
agleam!
I am wondering if they all bypassed me on their way south. I love the mamas
and babies, but those bejeweled males make my old heart just throb away at the
sight of their splendor!
Cheers, prayers & super birding,
Dee Thompson
