FreeLists / tn-bird / [TN-Bird] Waxwings, possible breeding - Knox

All spring and most of the winter we had 50 to 100+
Cedar Waxwings in our neighborhood in west Knox Co, TN.
The numbers really started dwindling down in late May
and early June.  Throughout late June and early July,
I would occassionally see a pair of waxwings fly over,
usually going to or coming from a small group of pines
behind the neighbors a few houses up the street.  This
morning (20 July 2006) I had 6 waxwings fly over the
yard.  Unfortunately, they were terribly backlit against
the sky and I didn't have binocs so couldn't tell if
any were juveniles but I suspect they were.

I've also seen waxwings where I work about 3 miles to
the west at the Hardin Valley exit on Pellissippi Parkway.
I've seen them there each of the last 4 or 5 summers and
suspect breeding but haven't confirmed.
