One last suggestion. Wonder if a big can of black pepper scattered on the
ground would discourage cats?...or perhaps something that stuck to their
feet? What about plywood basted with Tanglefoot, vaseline sprinkled with
red pepper, or draped with those sticky fly papers? By the way, be careful
with those. I tried some on my porch, thinking they would reduce the
flies/mosquitoes pestering me and the canine crowd, but I found a
hummingbird stuck to one a few days later. I managed to extricate him
(tediously, over my kitchen sink). This was just before their fall
migration last year, and I wonder if he made it without his full compliment
of feathers. Needless to say, I took down the tapes immediately.
