Standifer Gap Marsh, Chattanooga, Hamilton County
July 2, 2006
LEAST BITTERN: LB22 brand new with adult near, LB23 with one wet newly hatched
young, shell pieces still sticking to it, no other eggs, adult near.
The first 21 nests are all empty now. 7 of these fledged up to 18 young, 5
were apparently dummies or abandoned before laying, 8 apparently had
predators, 1 found after apparent use with no sign of predation.
Summer 2005 we found 22 nests, 14 of these appeared to have fledged up to about
50 young, 4 were dummies, 2 found after apparent use
WILLOW FLYCATCHER: One dependable Willow always about the same location 100 -
200 ft south of gravel road.
