TN-birders,
Nell Moore, Dollyann Myers, and I found yet 3 more immature White Ibises in
Anderson County. This time they were in a grassy field. To get there you will
need to take highway 62 through Oak Ridge, like you were going to Oliver
Springs. This goes through Oak Ridge, up a long hill, and then down the other
side of the ridge. You will come to a stop light. This is where highway 61
turns to the right (or east). You can only go right here. Go about 1 to 1.5
miles to Old Batley Rd., which will be on the left. Take this until it "T's:
into Batley Rd. (about 1/3 mile). Batley Rd. is also sometimes called Airport
Rd. Go left at the junction for about 0.9 miles. There is a grassy field on the
left and the Ibises were in this field at 11 am today.
This makes 5 Immature White Ibis in Anderson county at the same time (this is
assuming the 2 at Eagle Bend fish hatchery are still there).
