Since our meeting falls so early in the month this time, I thought some would 
appreciate a reminder, even a late one.  We meet at the Radnor Lake Visitor 
Center (Davidson County) at 7:00, with the program beginning at 7:30.  Tonight, 
our new State Ornithologist, Mike Roedel, will talk about monitoring songbird 
populations.  The monitoring of Tennessee's songbirds by volunteers is a very 
important part of bird conservation.  Knowing what birds are where and in 
what proportions gives us a picture not only of how birds are using the 
habitats, 
but about the health of the habitat itself.  Using this combined information, 
we can adjust habitat management to benefit birds as well as other animals.
