[TN-Bird] NTOS Field Trip

Chuck-will's-widow and Whip-poor-will were our target
species on our Friday night birding foray to Rutherford
County. Beneath an almost full moon, six of us cast our
shadows on Saddle Rd. as we found our birds. First the
chucks, then the whips; it was great to hear their calls
simultaneously. All of us got several looks at chucks and
most of us viewed a whip hawking insects.
It was a great way to spend a July evening.

Talk and walk softly, carry a big
scope.
