These are the pits that are now the home of this horde of Black-necked
Stilts. Directions and definitions are given periodically about the area and
many that want directions or details ask me off line. I replied to 4 persons
from around the south last week. It would be redundant to give directions
each time I post to all the areas that I bird. Ensley Bottoms is a huge area
and more birds can be found in this small area than any other area of its
size in Tennessee and probably in the mid-south due to its location and
proximity to different habitats. I've led groups to the area for shorebirds
and birding from as far away as Florida and individuals from the four corners
of the world. Within sight of the Allen Steam Plant smoke stacks I've
recorded over 300 species over the years. I'm open to any and all for details
by phone (901) 388-6482 or 487-8521 or "e' mail olcoot1@xxxxxxxx
Good Birding!!!
