Some time in the next week to 10 days you will be able to stand in one place 
at the pits and maybe with a scope, count over 200 Black-necked Stilts at one 
time.

Saturday, I counted 174 by moving around and recounting and searching out 
small young. Birds were still mating, building nests, building up old nests, 
setting, dividing up territories, jumping around, yapping and herding young 
from powder puffs on tooth picks to almost full grown size. I could count as 
high as twenty birds in one field of view.

There is considerable and extensive construction going on so be very careful 
and stay out of the way of the trucks and machinery. Do not block the 
roadways, find a suitable out of the way place to park and enjoy!!
