[TN-Bird] Wolf River Birding

I was out walking and birding this am on the Wolf River in Germantown. I
saw the usual summer birds including Indigo buntings, Prothonary Warblers
anda Green Heron. I saw the Eastern Meadowlark singing from his usual perch
which I always enjoy. But the treat today was an old friend that I have
missed for several years. As I was almost back to my car by the parking lot
I heard an unusual bird and waited until it flushed. It was the Yellow
breasted Chat. This bird used to be in the same field Spring after Spring
but the last two years I haven't seen him. The habitat has become very
overgrown so maybe that is why I missed him. Now, if I can just spot the
pair of Blue Grosbeaks that used to nest in the same area! It is nice that
birds can be somewhat predictable! Susan Riley Shelby County, TN
