Pardon the late posting. Friday evening we took the Blue Heron sunset cruise
which leaves from the restaurant at the base of the bridge in Ashland City.
We cruised toward Nashville. I guess we'd gone a mile or so past the large
cross (which I was told is Louise Mandrell's property). I spotted a large
black bird in the top of a large snag. It was obviously not a vulture, but I
wasn't convinced until I saw the adult bald eagle perhaps 100 yards further
along. After a couple minutes, we observed a second juvenile briefly sitting
in the same snag. A nice addition to the sunset cruise which was a birthday
celebration for a neighbor & her first eagle ever.
