[TN-Bird] Greene Co., Western , 6/4/06, Dickcissel, Willow flycatcher, Horned lark

I took a spin through Western Greene Co. between storms Sunday afternoon.
Myhorned larks (2) were still at mile post 10 on rt. 340, the Dickcissel was
a little north of there near Lick creek on the SW side where 340 crosses it.
The TWRA barn at the end of Mathews Lane still held the Barn Owl, but it was
peaking out of the "owl box" hole, a good sign I hope. It also held 2
phoebe, and the Willow Flycatcher was just on the other side in the Willows
(go figure that one). If you go there, the weeds are up, so you may want
your tick repelent (I only had to remove 16 from my legs).
The other nice surprise was the wooded pond off Smelcer road at the Lick
creek bridge. I expected the wood ducks and mallards, but not the 2 COOTS
and a BLUE-WINGED TEAL. I have attached my e-bird report.
Keep on brdn.
