[tn-bird] 3rd nest attempt for Bluebirds contains 5 eggs

Hi all,
I've got a nest box at my house in Perry County. The first clutch of 5 eggs
fell victim to predators-my fault that I didn't install a predator guard in
time.
The second attempt contained 4 eggs and all fledged (Noel guard).
The third attempt contains 5 eggs. I watched today and found the same adult
male from the previous two attempts (he's got a white patch on this right
scapulars).
So, my questions is could he have taken a new mate (due to death or injury) or
could the mate that he has had break the normal pattern of decreasing clutch
sizes?
