Carol:  Rankin Bottoms and the Rankin Wildlife Management Area are located in 
Cocke County, at the headwaters of Douglas Lake.  As I recall , there are 
directions  on the TOS website. Right now, it's a wide shallow pond, teeming 
with fish, and bounded by willow/cottonwood/buttonbush thickets in standing 
water - "Okeefenokee in the Smokies". The grand tour takes most of a day, we 
usually go out for 2-3 hours.  We'd be happy to show you around.

Some of us are relatively new to Tennessee and have no idea where "Rankin"
is, or if it is a lake, a county, or a park. It sounds like a delightful
place to visit (and paddle!) Could you be more clear about your location?
