Addendum- missed some people.
On Saturday 3 May,  13 members of the Memphis chapter of TOS participated in
a all day Bird Study Merit Badge Class held at the Town of Collierville's
Nature Center Boardwalk in Johnson Park. Special recognition goes out to
Kathie Holder who organized the day long event that saw just over 100 boy
scouts become introduced to the pastime of bird watching.  Members who led
hikes and instructed the boys are: Lisa Jorgensen, Carolyn Bullock, Beth 
Joerger, Dick
Preston, Jerry McKenna, Camille Vancil, Susan Davis, Margaret Jefferson ,
Fred Carney, Greg Elliott, Sheila Bentley, Theresa Graham, and myself. 
Mississippi Kites, Great Egrets, Prothonotary Warblers and a Chinese Brown
Goose(good example of an exotic) were just a few of the many springtime
birds seen during the day where the boys were introduced to Birding basics,
Binocular use, Sight and audible identification skills, Field guide usage
and several other related topics.

Thanks go out to all who participated and spent the time to share our
pastime with these young men and hopefully many future birders.
