[TN-Bird] Red-Breasted Grosbeaks & House Wrens

Sunday I finally spotted a pair of Red-Breasted Grosbeaks in the thicket in
my back yard in west Knox County, though they didn't come to the feeders
while I was watching. Later in the afternoon on the Norris Songbird Trail
in Anderson County I was approached by a fisherman who said he had been
seeing a bird with a black head and red patch on its breast at his home.
The rest of its front was white. He thought it might be some kind of
parrot. I showed him a picture of a Rose-Breasted Grosbeak and he said that
was the bird he was seeing.

Back at home, the House Wren returned to my neighborhood a couple weeks ago.
Don't these guys ever get tired of singing? At least they have a pretty
voice but they do make it kind of hard to hear anything else. Last evening
I saw two of them in my forsythia so I guess he's attracted a mate. Earlier
in the day I watched one of the wrens fly to one of my two bluebird boxes
only to be immeditely driven off by a male Eastern Bluebird though the
bluebirds are nesting in the box on the other side of my house. A short
time later the wren returned, entered the box for a few seconds and flew
away unmolested. I checked the box but it's empty.
