Score:
Mourning Warbler 2
Connecticut Warbler 0
Did the usual route from the West Parking Lot to Long Bridge and
back. Had a singing MOURNING WARBLER just 25 yards up the
Spillway Trail from the West Parking Lot. The second was singing
just before the "Artist and Teacher" Bench past the deck along
the Lake Trail. Got good looks at it on my return walk. I
was pleasantly surprised that there was still substantial warbler
activity with 4 or 5 nice mixed flocks, mostly at eye level! I
got nice looks at 6 CANADA WARBLERs, 5 males and a female, plus
a male WILSON'S WARBLER. I had 11 species in all. Thrushes were
still around in reasonable numbers as well. The only other
bird of particular note was a LINCOLN'S SPARROW about 50 yards
before Cane Bridge.
Birds of interest included:
Veery 2
Gray-cheeked Thrush 1
Swainson's Thrush 8
Gray Catbird 1
Northern Parula 2
Chestnut-sided Warbler 1
Magnolia Warbler 7
Yellow-rumped Warbler 2
American Redstart 4
Ovenbird 1
Louisiana Waterthrush 1
Mourning Warbler 2
Common Yellowthroat 2
Wilson's Warbler 1
Canada Warbler 6
Lincoln's Sparrow 1
