I birded the Natchez Trace starting in Nashville TN (Davidson Co.) at the
terminus to mile marker 405 at Jackson Falls this afternoon to scout for this
Saturday's TOS field trip.Even into 4:00 pm still had some great birds. Stopped
at many of the destination spots scheduled for the planned trip. Highlights
include the following.

Considering I really rushed the scouting I was pleasantly pleased with the
turnout. There are 3 locations along the Trace to use the facilities: Garrison
Creek, Gordon House and Jackson Falls. The Natchez Trace offers a wide variety
of habitats and some of the higher elevations provide oppurtunities to see
birds without the strain of warbler neck. If you have never been down the
Natchez Trace do yourself a favor and come enjoy this wonderful National
Parkway.
Good Birding,
